Really enjoyed a couple of days in South Kohala. I lived and/or worked in S Kohala for most of 20 years.
In Hawaii, Amit of bars have the surf channel on the TV. Non sports fan (or lazy) bartenders don’t want to look for sports.
With the high winds, my favorite 20 yo Birdwell board shorts blew off of a chair on our 6th floor hotel lanai. Thought they were lost. Went down to check on the grass below just in case. There they were, 6 floors down and 9 rooms across.
What sucks at the Hilton Waikoloa pools is no control. Guest come down early and put pool toys, towels and other personal things (slippers, etc) on lounge chairs and don’t come back for hours.
We went to the Kohala pool. My wife it was too cold. So back the chaos of the Kona pool. I’m reading.
We’re really happy we did the night at the Westin Hapuna resort. The Hilton Waikoloa is the polar opposite. Very large, busy, chaotic resort with 50% kids.
I’ve generally been very lucky with showing up early and getting a room. This time at the Hilton Waikoloa, not so.
