2 more photos from 2022. Moonset / sunset. Honolulu from the Ala Moana hotel. I stayed there for a month for training
Replaced the binding on the book that came with the 1969 Hilo Hawaiians album Honeymoon in Paradise. The old binding was brittle and cracking off.
If you look at any list of the top Hawaiian musical artists of the past 75 years, Alfred Apaka near the top. He is an amazing talent, but also a top class entertainer. A pleasure to listen to

The state of Hawaii is working to fund a climate science dept within the University of Hawaii to fill the gap being left by the feds closing offices. Most excellent

When I was young I rode skateboards down some crazy hills. After couple crashes I realized the streets have no give. I switched to paddling. At least the water has some give.
These kids flying down hills in power bikes and scooters on 1 wheel with no helmets will find out about gravity the hard way.
Skipping my walk today. The VOG is very thick. I can feel it just sitting at home. Not a whisp of a breeze and it’s hot. We’re stuck in this light and variable wind cycle.

I can watch prettty much any MLB or even a competitive minor game, though my allegiance will be adjusted accordingly. Love to see the Yankees, Giants or the Fathers (Padres) lose. I just love the flow and verve of a game, even a pitchers duel with awesome back up in the field.
I came across this CD from this 1993 concert at the Waikiki Shell. I missed it completely. It was 2 years after I moved to Hawaii Island and it wasn’t even on my radar. It was the first show the Makaha Son played after IZ left the group. The dropped “of Ni’ihau” from the group name.
