With Hokule’a starting a new voyage it brings this book to mind (rereading it now) that tells story of the canoe capsizing in 1977 and the loss of Eddie Aikau. the weather and channels around the Hawaiian islands are some of the roughest they will encounter in the entire voyage.

I injured my shoulder at work in April of 2024. I’ve mostly been off work since then. This gave me a preview of retirement. With that in mind, We are planning an active retirement. This has infulenced our plans to move to N. California
