How Cattle came to Hawaii
Capt. Vancouver presented a gift of longhorn cattle to King Kamehameha I, at Kealakekua, in 1793. A 10-year kapu was placed on the cattle to allow them to multiply and assure the island of a constant food supply. The wild cattle became a menace and Kamehameha III, in 1832, invited 3 of Mexico’s best cowboys, (Kossuth, Ramon and Lauzada) to Waimea to teach the paniolo’s the art of roping
Change subject. The Peter Moin band has 23 albums. A few songs are repeated on different album, but with different arrangements and often different musicians. Good stuff
The Konawaena v Hilo game is on the HNN app. What a great rivalry. On paper it will be Konawaena, but a cross island rivalry is awesome
I watched a few episodes of Bear. I’ve worked in and around hotel and restaurant kitchens for 40 years and owned my own place for 10 years. It’s only slightly realistic. There’s not that much drama. Cooks are professionals that show up and do their job. A real kitchen would be boring.

I’ve had steel cut oats with apples and cinnamon for breakfast for years. When I start my new job in a couple of weeks, I’ll start work at 5:30 am. I ordered a smart rice cooker so I can set it up the night the before, set the timer and have it ready at 4am when I get up.

36 hours to move 4T off of this old LaCie beast. This drive has FireWire, but I don’t have a device with FireWire or an adapter.

Watched interview with Physicist Michio Kaku on quantum computing and string theory. One thing that he said was that nothing will move forward on a theory of everything until we understand dark matter. Until we have a bottle of dark matter in our hand. We’ll need quantum computers to get there
Missionaries destroyed so many societies. It’s just brutally sad. Their descendants are still doing it.
