I’m an old nerd. Always had more than adequate computers. I use my iPhone 80% of the time now. Use my Mac now and then and iPad for streaming. Will likely not replace my 13” MB Air when the time comes and just put a monitor on my M1 Mac Mini home server. May get the new Mac Mini if it’s that good

I’ve been doing all kinds of things to slow down aging. Making sure I get plenty of sleep, eating as good as is practical. I take vitamins, keep my weight in check. Walk 3-4 miles 3-4 times a week. Now in this world, wondering if I really want to stay around longer. Unless I get a cabin in the hills

Still fallout from pandemic. Nurses and lots of Hotel workers on strike, mostly due to lower work levels set during pandemic and not changed when business came back
We can’t solve these age old religious wars. The US is the first country to separate government and religion, none of these others have.
We can’t let the Christian right into the high levels of government either. If so, we will also be embroiled in our own religious war.
Apple Care
I stay pretty loyal to Apple, hearing other stories I guess I’ve been very lucky with Apple Care. Many moons ago I had a 13" MB Pro and Cinema display. I typically ran the MBP in clamshell mode. I still had my website business then. I had an issue with the screen going blank on the Cinema Display for no particular reason. After a few panicky minutes thinking I lost my work, it would come back on, other the the effects of all of the keys I was punching to try to revive it, it was right were it was when it went blank. After this happened a few times, I called Apple (no Apple Store on Hawaii Island), we had about 1/2 doz calls back and forth. Finally they said they would send me (in Hawaii) a replacement MBP and Cinema display. When I get it, back up and log out of everything on my MBP and send it and the display back to them in the same boxes, shipping pre-paid. I had no issues with the new set up. FYI - On the stand up desk in the photo, I routed out a slot for the trackpad.
Funny thing, a few weeks later I saw a firmware update go out for systems using a MBP in clamshell mode with a Cinema Display.

It unfortunate. We have 2 Sonos speakers and a soundbar. Will look at a HomePod when it’s time to replace the speakers. They’ve lost my confidence, the app is still buggy. Using a 3rd party app

I kept getting a failure when trying to update to MacOS 15.1. Tried the developer and public betas. Tried the App Store version. Every time it hung up and gave me an error message. I started to post Developer feedback and did it one more time to get screenshots and it worked. Think I scared it

Talking with my wife this morning, we don’t know whether to believe any of the polls. Trump’s base won’t budge no matter what he lies about or who endorses Harris. All we can do is vote and hope upon hope enough people in the swing states swing in the proper direction. This election system sucks
