Finally back at work. Difiierent direction. I injured my shoulder almost a year ago, had a reverse replacement last July, rehabbed, went back to the Kitchen in December, shoulder couldn’t handle, went out agan in Jan. Just back today in Guest Service. Lobby and hospitality room greeter. Easy
Lots of support from drivers. A few thumbs down. I think they were more upset at traffic than politics.
Would think the commercial servers TV stations use would be better by now, but we still get commercials on local TV in Spanish. In the past we just thought they didn’t know what else to play in our geographic area. Still happens, mostly on weekends
Sunset obscured by whatever weather is out there that we didn’t get. There’s clouds look like a dinosaur
Hawaii has its own oligarch problems. Oprah has 2100 acres on Maui, Larry Ellison Owns Lanai, Steve Case has 5700 acres on Kauai, Mark Zuckerberg has 1450 acres on Kauai, Marc Benioff has 600 acres on HI Island. Michael Dell onws the 4 Seasons Hualaai and a huge estate. Many more have estates.
Going back and re watching Luke Cage. I last watched it years ago on Netflix. I have the DVD set too
The ignorance of youth. Riding a powered scooter on a busy street, looking down at her phone mounted on the handlebar wearing no protection. Maybe she’s lucky, but the combination of gravity and pavement are very unforgiving

This is the earliest available recored Hawaiian song; Aloha `Oe by Nani Alapai and Henry Clark released on Columbia records in 1911. An earlier recording in 1898 by Berliner Gramophone on wax cylinders is lost. Most Hawaiian music was recorded on the continent, there were 100s of records by 1920.

I really want a recordng of this. When I’m in Honolulu next, I’m going to stop by KGU radio to see if they have a copy.

Frank Ferera, Born in Honolulu: June 12, 1885 of Portuguese ancestry. Of all Hawaiian recordings made between 1915 and 1930, it is said that Frank Ferera appeared on at least a 1/4 of them. Some of the estimated 2,000 discs he cut remain available on Hawaiian CD compilations to this day. Amazing

I’ve been listening to almost entirely Hawaiian music. Apple Music’s algorithm doesn’t recognize that and pushes everything else. Could be that most of my music didn’t come from Apple but from albums, CDs and music archives.
This playlist is so old school I feel like a your kid listening to it.
