For those of you living in the same city or same house for decades, keeping a stack of albums from the 70s may seem like a simple feat, but I’ve moved 17 x since the 70s'. I also had a wall of CDs that moved a bit, until I ripped all but a few in 2005 and donated them to a school.

When I recorded the 32 island music I’ve had since the 70s, I recorded one version straight through like we would listen to the originally. This is my favorite way to listen to this music. I also scanned the album covers and sleeves.

The B side of Lei Nani was a very lively version of Johnny K. Almeida’s Noho Pai Pai

Just binged Sandman season 2. Liked season 1 better. Lucifer was a fun character

Just found a 1947 copy of Charles Namahoe’s Lei Nani

The smell is good. Have chuck meat in the slow cooker with taco seasonings and japapeno. Beef Birra tacos soon

Last year we had so much fun at the Waimea Aloha week parade and Ho’olaulea. Can’t wait for this year.

Credit where credit is due. Big Island Motors Kona, the local Subaru and Hyundai dealer has turned their service dept. around. They are friendly and keep promises. I’ve had good experiences there with our 2 cars for at least the past year.

The other day when we were at the Makapu’u lookout, I was recalling paddling around this coastline and learning how to hug the cliffs, so close you could almost reach out and touch.

I think the only place I send money to that I really have a trade deficit is the US Government as the cancel programs. I get value back on pretty much everything else.

My wife was sharing with me about a completely botched presentation she had to sit though on Monday. I used to do a lot of business presentations. This book changed the game for me. I followed this style and got even more requests to take the lead on presentations.

Looking through this Kaka`ako masterplan from 2008. Seems off track. Very few affordable housing options in the district. Walkable Auahi St. promenade ???. The Mauka / Makai view planes don’t seem to line up. We’ll see, not likely my lifetime. Kaka’ako was central part of life in Honolulu

I’ve had Netflix continuously since about 2000. We’re going to cancel it for a few months. It’s cost has creeped above its value.

Kona nightingale donkeys, hauling coffee. 1-17-1943

Laupahoehoe point. 6-7-1941

Just looking over the monthly bills spreadsheet that my wife manages. Netflix is our most expensive streaming service, not sure it’s holding its value. We pay more for the Apple bundle and Disney, Hulu, ESPN. But use iCloud and Music and all 3 of the Disney bundle.

After eating out off a few days on O’ahu, nice to eat at home. Cajun chicken pasta.

Watching V for Vendetta. Stellar cast. Politically appropriate for the age

We went to Kaka’ako Waterfront park Sunday before we flew out. I looked mauka and saw 4 construction cranes. There will be more when Ward Center is demolished. You won’t be able to see the mountain when those are all built and people mauka won’t see the ocean. A wall of buildings.
