Ode to Poho’iki. I really think she’ll be gone by morning. So many memories. And Uncle Ula (the unofficial mayor) who drowned at Poho’iki trying to fetch a lost canoe paddle

My travel over the last couple of years.

We held the Poho’iki Challenge for many years. The race went to Kehena. Hopefully Pele spares Poho’iki. These pix are from 2006. Mahalo #kamailinursery

The volcanic haze is so bad today, you can only see a little wisp of Hualalai at the bottom. #hawaiinewsnow

Old school. Local style

Hazy sunset. Thinking this volcanic haze will be around for quite a while.

with all of the volcanic haze in West Hawaii. Almost forgot what clear blue skies look like.

Battling the thick volcanic haze. Small air purifier to an in room air conditioner to a fan to push it to the rest of the condo to a monster air purifier in the hall. Lots of white noise, but it’s cool and the air is clear inside.

My Dad passed last year. Richard Botti. High profile Hawaii lobbyists and political peace maker. Hawaii could sure use his sensibility now. Happy Father’s Day
