I can watch prettty much any MLB or even a competitive minor game, though my allegiance will be adjusted accordingly. Love to see the Yankees, Giants or the Fathers (Padres) lose. I just love the flow and verve of a game, even a pitchers duel with awesome back up in the field.
I came across this CD from this 1993 concert at the Waikiki Shell. I missed it completely. It was 2 years after I moved to Hawaii Island and it wasn’t even on my radar. It was the first show the Makaha Son played after IZ left the group. The dropped “of Ni’ihau” from the group name.

I’m so frustrated with my Sonos system. More specifically the App. It’s not letting me choose which speaker to lead the group. Tries to force a different one. Arrrggghh
Sorry Podcasters, I don’t listen to podcasts since the election. Used to have quite the diverse playlist. I have Hawaiian and Island music in my library spanning 80 years. My music makes me happy among the rest of the doom and gloom.
Subscribed to the Atlantic. How could I not. When the Guardian comes up for renewal in February I may opt out.
What’s trippy, is. if yoi watch, you can see volcanic debris falling by the camera.
Kiss me love by the Kalima Brothers 1946
And by the Makaha Sons of Ni’ihau 1999
My arts and crafts project. Not sure if holding a sign on a highway in Kailua Kona will have any effect, but maybe a small part of a national movement can nudge the needle
Last night ws child’s play, this is crazy www.youtube.com/live/oG5z…
Charles K.L. Davis “He Ono” on The Ed Sullivan 1959
Notice on Queen Ka`ahumanu Highway or Saddle Road, jacked up Tacoma & 4Runner get a pass. Never pulled over despite obvious speeding and “unadvised” passing.
Watched both Sicario movies. Needed a little violence. Next I work our our protest signs for Saturday
Love how these old album had record catalogs on the liner notes. From Sunday Manoa Hawaiian Time 1969
I have zero confidence this messaging scandal will amount to anything. Trump owns the (un)justice department
Happy Kuhio Day in Hawaii. Jonah Kūhiō Kalanianaʻole (March 26, 1871 – Jan 7, 1922) was a prince of the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi, delegate of the Territory of Hawaii to the United States Congress, the only royal-born member of Congress.
Kalanianaʻole Song
I found 52 renditions of Pua Lilia on Apple Music. I know there are many more not on Digital platforms. This song was written in 1926 by Alfred Alohikea called one of the most beautiful and erotic Hawaiian love poems. It sings of Lily flowers on each island, but refers his girlfriends.
