The owner of this restaurant in Auckland was a guest at the hotel. We talked for quite a while. Similar backgrounds and so much in common. It was fun
Peter Moon started his own record label, Kanikapila Records. They released 19 albums & 1 EP between 1984-93. There were some released on higher quality. None of them are on streaming services. I have all but 3 in my collection. Very hard to find.

Woot, 2 issues that I reported were addressed in the latest IOS build. I realize there had to be a lot more reports, but hey.

I went to culinary school in the 70s and climbed the ladder quickly before moving to the FOH. Something gratifying happened at Outrigger in the kitchen before my injury. I would often see young cooks watching me. When I asked why, they said they just loved to watch me work. Old school style
I remember when I was 12 yo, my friends Chuck Jackson and I would ride the city bus on “circle island tour”. It was a treat seeing the middle of the island and the N Shore. Our parents rarely took us past Tripler hospital or past Kahalu’u on the other side. It was these old green buses.

Love this rendition of Lizzy Alohikea’s Nani Kauai by Theresa Bright and the Makaha Sons.
Pan American World Airways Clipper Service flew to Wake island in the 50s. This was set up mostly as a refueling stop on the way to Japan or Guam
The R talking heads on the Sunday shows were all reciting the same line about economic growth of 3% which will erase the deficit. Blatant lies, as usual. Trickle down doesn’t work.

If I get bored during the day and work that night, rather than doom scroll or channel surf, I’d rather take a nap.
