It’s been over 10 years since we lived in Waimea. I guess I’d forgotten how friggen cold it gets up here. 15-2.0 degree difference from Kona in the early morning. Starbucks offers a little respite.

Not sure about other places, but when a worker needs to get a COVID test here in Kona, the default should be the rapid test as the first line. If they don’t ask for and push for it, they get the PCR test by default and have to wait 2-3 days for a result. This puts a financial stress on the employee and further aggravates the already bad staffing challenges.
This COVID crap is not over yet. 2 employees exposed to family members who tested positive. A other employee can’t smell or taste.
An 80 year old bridge near our house was replaced last year. This the chasm that was once the bridge and temporary bridge around the gap.

Too lazy to go out, then I realized that we have everything we needed or make chili cheese fries at home. We also have Kona Brew Longboard Lager. Maybe I’ll stay in forever
I have a 2015 12” MacBook that was for when I used to go an “in between” place, pre pandemic. You know that place that’s not home and not work. Used to stop at Starbucks or another local coffee shop to get in the mood on my way to work or on my way home.
I love that little computer. It’s been in a bag unused for months since I’m only at home or at work. Powered it up today, it still works. I’d like another Mac in that form factor. The entre computing part of that Mac is the size of an iPhone. The rest is battery.

I bought a Tom Bihn Nik’s Minimalist Wallet in 2016, after daily use (excluding the lockdown) it finally needs to be replaced, the elastic strap is stretched. I’ll use the old one for business cards or something.
Inexplicable behavior by my Apple watch. I often put it in my pocket while working in the kitchen at work, not because I’m worried about the watch, but because it’s a health department / food safety thing. Last night when I took it out of my pocket, the watch had reset to factory settings, checking the watch app, it was no longer paired. I had to re-pair it and restore the watch. Kind of hassle and it sucks because my long curated setting were lost. No clue
Made Chili today, in our house it requires two batches. My wife, being from the North I suppose, prefers milder, thinner chili with beans. I prefer thick, spicy and no beans.
