It was interesting seeing the repairs in this very old canoe in the Wa’a hālau at Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau. I have repaired a lot of canoes in my day. This is a very old school type of repair
For today’s “get our Grandsons out of the house and away from devices” field trip, we went down south to Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau national park haven’t bern since the Covid era. Lots of history. I went here for an elementary school field trip many moons ago.
The Farmers Market in Capt Cook, S Kona was busy for a holiday. We picked up some veggies and had a really good Ka’u grown coffee.

Talking with a friend who was also at the Kona protest yesterday. We both agree that it seems that every vehicle that the driver was giving thumbs down were huge mostly Chevy and Ford trucks.
6 O’Clock Bad News
It was so hot last night 1pm - 3am. Felt like mid summer Kona. All the fans were a blazing.
After all of those storms in the area all week, it rained for 5 min last night.
I have found that if I try to talk a MAGA person with civility about politics they get mad and raise their voice quickly and don’t have single argument to stand on. They just start attacking. It’s everyone else’s fault
A throw back to ‘74. These guys were good. I got to know Alan Naluai in the late 80s when he played as a bar I managed in Waikiki. His Brother Clayton would sit in now and then. He had so much aloha. Old school.
Finally back at work. Difiierent direction. I injured my shoulder almost a year ago, had a reverse replacement last July, rehabbed, went back to the Kitchen in December, shoulder couldn’t handle, went out agan in Jan. Just back today in Guest Service. Lobby and hospitality room greeter. Easy
Lots of support from drivers. A few thumbs down. I think they were more upset at traffic than politics.
Would think the commercial servers TV stations use would be better by now, but we still get commercials on local TV in Spanish. In the past we just thought they didn’t know what else to play in our geographic area. Still happens, mostly on weekends

Hawaii has its own oligarch problems. Oprah has 2100 acres on Maui, Larry Ellison Owns Lanai, Steve Case has 5700 acres on Kauai, Mark Zuckerberg has 1450 acres on Kauai, Marc Benioff has 600 acres on HI Island. Michael Dell onws the 4 Seasons Hualaai and a huge estate. Many more have estates.
