We’ve had 5 Macs and 2 iPhones die in the past 18 months. Likely just a coincidence as we we acquired most of them from 2013-15 and were all heavily used (the phones more recently). The oldest one, a 2011 MBP finally bought the ranch. It had a late life as a Minecraft machine for our grandson. We now have an M-1 Mac Mini for things that need an actual computer, an iPad 9th Gen with a Brydge keyboard, acChromebook and 2 new iPhones. We’re set for a while.

In 10 days I start training for my new job. I will be off-island in Honolulu for 5 weeks and in Corona California for 2 weeks. For the Honolulu portion I’ll come home on days off. My tech “Go bag” is different, not Mac based, all IPad and phone.
When we were in London in 2012, it was during Euros and British flags were up everywhere in support of England. The pubs were packed during matches. Incidentally it was also 1 month before the Olympics.

Back in 2019, the world was chugging along with the normal BS. The environment was pretty much the biggest problem. Then we had a pandemic. Turned everything upside down. We’re finally moving past that and Putin has to go and mess it up for us all. They said Afghanistan was Russia’s Viet Nam. Ukrainian will Russia’s Afghanistan all over again.
