Well here we go, looking down the barrel of 2023. I started 2022 as GM of the 2nd busiest Macaroni Grill in the country on the road to burning out - 60 hour weeks, and corp. didn’t care.
I’m ending 2022 as Chef of a popular locally owned scratch kitchen restaurant. Much happier. Happy New Year
I’ve been in Hospitality for 40+ years, I’ve spent almost every NYE in this period doing inventory. Luckily in my current position I only have food to count and can do most of it early.
Surprise, surprise, NBC moved the Arsenal match to Peacock. It was listed as USA. I’m happier (I wasn’t sad, just less happy)
Just watched “Everything Everywhere all at once”. I loved it. Had a few overly silly moments, but all in all amazing film making.
My wife hated it. I had watch it on my iPad after the first 30 min. But then she didn’t like Matrix or and of the other multiverse type movies.

I saw little snippets of Southwest Airline’s frailties last year when I was flying weekly between Hawaiian islands. I was working in Honolulu and would fly home to Hawaii island on days off. If there was one delay early in the day, it would ripple through to even the last flight
My wife got me a new Electric razor for Christmas. The old one (Silver) lasted about 6-7 years. To say I’m happy with it is an understatement. Stick with a brand that works.
Travel looks nasty. I have never traveled for the Holidays in my life. Family wants to come to Hawaii rather than otherwise. Plus for the past 10 years I’ve worked on Christmas Day, not this year Yay!

Rough couple of days at work. COVID is still a thing, 3 employees positive yesterday alone. People still not coming out to work. I think they’re all gone. Maybe my first instinct to get out of management was the right idea.
