We got to Hapuna. Not monster surf, but mother ocean is definitely in motion. Big time currents and rip tide. I don’t really have fear, but a ton of respect for the ocean. Letting our grandsons play in the white wash
Gonna take our Grandsons up to Hapuna beach and take a chance with the high surf warning. If it’s too big, we’ll go down to Anaeho`omalu bay or Mauna Lani.
Last post today. I grew up in Hawaii. Since small kid time, I ate the same foods, sat in the same classes, played on the same sports teams & hung out after school with all of the other local kids. Local people who meet me see me as one of them. People who don’t just see me as a haole. Their loss

Waikiki was an amazing place for island music in the 70s. Bonus. You could walk Waikiki beach at night see the artists playing at thr beachside bars all the way down the beach.

This Kahuano Lake Trio album released in 1964 still sounds amazing. 60 years ago

I’ve been at the volcano when it’s doing this. Sounds like to jet engine.
My resume is still out in ether, so I keep getting emails & calls from recruiters and headhunter looking for F&B managers. Corporate level and local. That ship has sailed. I’m looking forward to sitting in office, meters from the ocean and answering phone calls and solving guest’s problems.
There’s enough things one can do to live life on a certain edge and and not put your live on the line. I’ve paddled 21 crossings of the Ka’iwi channel, Molokai to Oahu. I’ve paddled other channels in Hawaii. Riding a motorcycle at 100mph on a 2 lane highway is just idiotic to me. Death wish
