When we were in Honolulu last week and we drove by Restaurant Row my mind went back. I really miss Studebakers and Black Orchid. I was the opening manager at Rose City Diner. The manager from Studebakers, Dana Duden, ended up at Big Island Steakhouse in Waikoloa. We used to hang out a lot.

I made a smart playlist of all 6077 Hawaiian and island music songs in my collection. It’s fun to have song from from the past 120 years play in random order. Hear a song very steel guitar forward from 1920 followed by one from 2010 with a reggae beat.

Of course CBS profiles Weather Tech. A very MAGA owner and company.

Right now, I’d rather donate to PBS than the Democratic party.

When you can’t wait

I am blacked out for the Athletics, Giants, Angels, Padres and Dodgers. All playing at home. Oh well it Reds and Mets then.

The building Ross in Kona is in was built as a Circuit City. It even had the Circuit City signage, but never opened. It sat empty then became Ross

Everyone who is in the Epstein papers knows it. They’re holding their okole right now.

This is considerably more sordid, but I recall the Pentagon papers when I was younger. Those papers revealed the details of an unnecessary war that took thousands of young men and women’s lives.

Ummm.

The way we used to get software.

Kona is hot and very humid. We have a 6L dehumidifier. We usually have to empty the water 2-3 times a day. In the last 24 hours we’ve emptied it at least 6 times.

For those of you living in the same city or same house for decades, keeping a stack of albums from the 70s may seem like a simple feat, but I’ve moved 17 x since the 70s'. I also had a wall of CDs that moved a bit, until I ripped all but a few in 2005 and donated them to a school.

When I recorded the 32 island music I’ve had since the 70s, I recorded one version straight through like we would listen to the originally. This is my favorite way to listen to this music. I also scanned the album covers and sleeves.
