Sad about the Pac 10 (12). Now even the west coast powerhouse teams will be in the East coast fold. Just feel wrong. Lots more travel for teams. I recall easy road-trips to see Stanford/Cal, UCLA/USC, UCLA/UW in the 80s

El Nino in Hawaii means dryer winter and more storms. Those storms will in turn make their way to the West Coast.

My wife watches occasionally documentaries on how bad processed food is for our bodies and the environment. I told her, simple solution, we buy an acre and grow everything. She got over it pretty quick.

The Honolulu Rail boondoggle is challenging Boston’s Big Dig for ineptness. it will be built, but no one knows the final cost. As it stands, they shorted the route to save money, it’s not working.

There was just a brushfire across the street from us. They got it out quick, but everyone is on pins and needles after Lahaina. Luckily, it’s dead still, not a wisp of a breeze

Remember the Y2K bug. In retrospect, seems silly.

Shut down my website this month. I’ve had a website since 1999. That first site was for my Cafe, Canoes Cafe. It was simple, but did the job. My next site was first built in 2006 for my web and social media company. All told, I built about 50 websites for local businesses. My last site was a personal site. End of an era.

My ancestor Andrew Kimbley was born in Holland in 1737. Came to the colonies, Married (1773), settled in Virginia, fought in the Virginia Militia during the Revolutionary war. Joined The George Rogers Clark expedition to Kentucky (1778 - took his family) to attack 2 British forts in Illinois and settle Kentucky. Andrew was one of the founding fathers of Louisville and his 2nd son, born on Corn island (1779) was the first white male born West of the Appalachians. In 1792 Andrew served in an expedition against the Wabash Indians

Here’s the best part, in 1804, after 25 hard years in Jefferson and Nelson Counties, he picked up the family and moved to Mulenburg County, described as almost unbroken wilderness, he bought 400 acres of wild land on the banks of the Green River to establish a farm and homestead. He was 67 years old. He lived until 1824. I’m 64, I better start looking for a farm or something.
