I’m in a generally annoyed state over what’s going on in the US. Every pillar of society we’ve built over 80 years & grown to enjoy, expect and rely on is under attack. I’m annoyed that our retirement is in doubt. I’m annoyed I have to protests my own country. My music is my only escape.

When we walk at the Mauna Lani resort, we often stop at the Eva Parker Woods Cottage at Kalahuipua’a to chill. We heard all of this Ruckus coming from the Hau trees behind. Counted at least 8 Egret nests among 3 trees with the chicks making all the noise.

A couple of thoughts on the town hall today with Rep Tokuda. Only a small % of (non-white) local people. Locals complain about hauole but then don’t show up. Also many used this forum to voice grievances with government in general. Many topics were very local with no connection to national issues
It’s funny that companies from Hawaii will often say they brought in an “east coast” consultant. What’s wrong with west coast consultants? Are they just not good?
In Hawaiian Hands: The Story of Reggae in Hawaiʻi. This is fascinating. I really liked the early Hawaiian/Reggae. Butch Helemano. It was just the next iteration. Hawaiian music was influenced by Big Bands, Jazz, Pop Music and others through the years.
