Bunny Brown’s Hilo Hawaiians. His son Bobo played at Fiasco’s in Hilo when I was manager
Lahaina Luna ☹️. It’s still sad
Share among themselves plenty aloha.
Last week I posted about this chicken that walked right under our car at a red light. Yesterday my wife at the same stop light and the chicken was working there again. People must be feeding it. It has the people trained.
Get in the car to drive to work. 6 am. Open music app. Select favorites playlist. Shuffle The first song played is the majestic Kamehameha Waltz by Emma Veary. Talk about a wake up call
Looks like the job that carries me in to retirement is breakfast host at The Piko restaurant at the Outrigger Kona. I’ve been at the Voyager47 club as a greeter and concierge for my temp light duty post surgery job. Easy job. 5:30-am start will be harder.
My wife and I like to go for a weekend morning walk and coffee. We went to Arise Balery in the Kona industrial area a few times. It’s owned and run by a church (Mormon we think). That was ok at first, but they started getting more outward about it. Scriptures on the wall etc. We don’t go anymore.

I posted earlier about the Hawaiian plantation home. Came across this on our walk. This is the same thing dressed up. Tongue in groove redwood siding (painted), single wall construction, louvres all around for cross ventilation. Wide eaves for more shade on the home. Open carport, this one under the same roofline.

Memories. I remember this stretch of coastline near Hokuli’a. Racing and training. Not to too far till they reach Keauhou and you can see the finish. 5 miles away, but seeing the finish none the less give you a boost.
I remember when I first did the Queen Lili`uokalani Canoe race in 1991, We had a torch light parade on Alii Drive on Saturday after the main race with real torches. In retrospect giving a few hundred drunk paddlers torches with fire and letting them loose was not the best idea.
